Seize a Second Chance:
Non-Surgical Root Canals, Dallas

Most of the time, the life of your teeth is uneventful. They’re doing their jobs and minding their own business. But sometimes, one has a bit of a crisis. Deep decay, trauma, or an old filling can irritate the inner pulp of the tooth. When that happens, it tends to make itself known.

Endodontic therapy (root canal) is the key to preserving your natural tooth. Rather than the villain it’s often made out to be, a non-surgical root canal in Dallas is a reset, a sophisticated treatment designed to save your natural tooth and maintain the elegant harmony of your smile. At Dental Manor of North Dallas, our team restores health from the inside out, ensuring your smile remains as timeless and genuine as you are.

How We Stage Your Tooth’s Rescue

Step 1: Numbing & Access
Our North Dallas dentist uses a local anaesthetic to numb the tooth and surrounding area. Once you’re settled, we create a small, precise opening in the crown of the tooth to access the inner pulp chamber.

The purpose of a root canal is to relieve pain, not cause it. The anaesthetic ensures you won’t feel anything during the procedure. Most patients report that it feels similar to a dental filling.

Step 2: Cleaning the Canals
We use specialized instruments to carefully remove infected pulp from the chamber and root canals. We then meticulously clean the inside of the tooth, shape it, and disinfect it to eliminate any remaining bacteria.
Depending on the complexity of the tooth’s root structure, it can take anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes. We take our time to ensure a perfectly clean foundation for restoring your tooth.
Step 3: Filling & Sealing
Once the canals are clean and dry, we fill them with a biocompatible, material called gutta-percha. This seals the canals to prevent bacteria from re-entering. We then place a temporary restoration to close the opening.
This protects the tooth while it heals and until we can create your custom restoration. You will return for a follow-up visit at Dental Manor to have a permanent crown placed.

Caring for Your
Tooth’s Second Chance

A root canal isn’t the end of the story. It’s the start of your tooth’s comeback. To keep things on track after treatment, avoid chewing on the treated tooth until we’ve placed your custom crown. Some tenderness is normal, so just stick to your brushing and flossing routine, and give your mouth a little grace.

Over-the-counter pain relief usually does the trick for easing mild discomfort. If something feels off, though, just give us a call. At Dental Manor of North Dallas, we’re here to make sure your smile not only heals but thrives.

The Case for Keeping Your Natural Tooth
While a tooth extraction may seem simpler, saving your natural tooth is almost always a better long-term choice. A preserved tooth maintains your bite, supports surrounding teeth, and prevents bone loss in the jaw. Replacing a missing tooth requires restorations, which are excellent substitutes but substitutes nonetheless. When a tooth can be saved, it’s worth saving properly.
